Program Details
The City of Cambridge has created a Property Tax Deferral Program to provide emergency relief to residents and businesses that are experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of recent changes in tariffs.
The program is intended to give residents and businesses extra time to pay their final tax bills by extending the final due date to November 30, 2025. It is available to eligible property owners in all property classes who have tax accounts up-to-date as of May 2025. The deadline for application to the program is October 31, 2025.
All applications must be submitted by the property owner and include a valid email address. Successful applicants will be notified by the City if their application is approved and will then have until November 30, 2025 to pay all outstanding property taxes.
Successful applicants to this program, who:
- Currently pay property taxes through the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan (PAP), will be removed from PAP program. This means that in December 2025, those wishing to enroll back into the program must submit a new Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for the 2026 tax year.
- Pay their property taxes through a mortgage company are responsible for contacting their financial institution directly to advise them to delay payments.
